Ottmar Ruoff
Chairman and Co-Founder, Helvetia Wealth AGBorn and educated in Germany, Ottmar Ruoff is the Chairman and co-founder of Helvetia Wealth AG, Zurich. With over 40 years of senior private banking experience, he has a wide-ranging knowledge of strategic area and portfolio management in equity and derivative markets. A passion for developing and engineering sustainable and successful investment approaches has made him one of the investment industry’s well respected strategists.
His career includes senior positions at various financial institutions. At Allgemeine Deutsche Creditanstalt AG, Munich, he was head of investment and portfolio management and in charge of stock trading at the Munich exchange. With Bayerische Vereinsbank in Luxembourg he supervised 80 client consultants with assets under management of DM 10 billion. At ABN AMRO membership of the Executive Board gave him substantial experience of management with one of the world’s biggest investment players. At Deutsche Bank he served as Deputy Global Head of Private Banking and as a Member of the Executive Board before becoming a partner in Swan Wealth, a family office co-owned by Deutsche Bank AG, Frankfurt.
His multifaceted experience of various senior private banking positions allowed him to acquire the know-how and experience on which he is able to draw today in his activities as co-founder of Helvetia Wealth and as strategic advisor to its private and institutional clients. In addition to this Mr. Ottmar Ruoff is presented as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Dahl & Partner Vermögensverwaltung AG in Hamburg. Furthermore he is in the Board of the International Forestry Fund in Dublin.
Ottmar Ruoff has three adult sons and lives at the lake of Constance and in Zurich. His leisure-time activities include golf, reading and art.
Kamil Stender
CEO, Helvetia Wealth AGKamil Stender (b. 1973) is the co-founder and CEO of Helvetia Wealth, Zurich. Born and educated in New Zealand, he graduated with a Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) from the University of Waikato. Between 1996 and 2004, he worked for Credit Suisse First Boston in London and Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt. His wide-ranging experience of investment and private banking combined with his success in asset management for private clients saw him rise quickly through the ranks. He and his business partner, Ottmar Ruoff, likewise a former Deutsche Bank employee, developed a strategy for bringing Swan Wealth’s business model to Switzerland, where they established Helvetia Wealth as a modern, independent and highly dynamic asset management company in 2005.
In the first five years since the company’s founding, the volume of assets under management has risen to CHF 1.2 billion. In the same period, Helvetia Wealth has taken over six companies in five countries and has more acquisitions in the pipeline. Kamil Stender’s main duties include business strategy development and implementation, relationship management, portfolio management and new client acquisitions. He describes himself as a young, dynamic leader who takes a pragmatic approach to challenge and delivers effective solutions in the interests of both the company and its clients. Kamil Stender is a passionate golfer and his hobbies include rugby, jogging, travel and history.
